ABOUT THE PROJECT

Independent and agile wealth management

⚑ Role: Lead Product Designer / Head of design

Group-2

Intro

At Dolfin, we created a multy-sided platforms for institutional investors and their clients Also after 3 years we also worked with IFA and create a multy-side platform for them and their retail clients.

For institutional investors

For end clients

  1. They don't need to have KYC and Compliance at all. Since we will automate this work through us and make it as a service. A fully suitable system for MiFiD 2 (at that time it was just starting to be implemented).
  2. Portfolio management system. Including statistics and a complete display of portfolio diversification.
  3. Trading bot, using our own AI, the robot can create and balance portfolios itself (very important features for wealth managers who don't know a lot about portfolio managment).
  4. Convenient CRM system with the ability to compile and visually display the whole "Company Structure Tree", with full support for all possible management themes.
  5. Model portfolios system.
  6. OMS system.
  7. Reporting.
  8. Accounting.
  9. Trading with the following tools: Fixed income, derivatives, structured products, funds, FX, money market, equities, ETF.

The main feature was the fact that you no longer need to go to your financial advisor personally (respectively, and the advisor does not need to go to your client (a big pain for all advisors)), bring a bunch of KYC document, sign contracts, etc... Now everything has become simple, through a mobile application or a web platform, where you can:

  1. View your NAV.
  2. View portfolio.
  3. Statistics.
  4. Analytics.
  5. OMS.
  6. Ability to accept/reject actions from your advisor.
  7. Download and manage KYC documents.
  8. Reporting.
  9. Chat with your advisor.
  10. Defining Your Risk Level.

The most difficult project in my career

It is not impossible to describe how many challenges we had during 4 years of working on this projects. In the design department, we worked out more than a thousand scenarios, outlined more than 5000 (and most likely, much more) prototypes covering a lot of scenarios. We had a lot of weeks of meetings with potential clients, end clients. Spent a lot of time and money on financial courses.

I started as a senior product designer. My responsibilities included:

  1. Hire a design team (hired 4 designers).
  2. Design operations.
  3. Design of the most complex UX parts.
  4. Create a design system.
  5. UI was on me.
  6. Global UX/UI management between all parts of the platforms.
  7. CJM, user stories, personas and understanding of users, etc... Huge job was done to understand our users.
  8. UX research.
  9. Motion design and presentations - the project is large and required constant reports for the business.
  10. Preparing layouts for the dev team

After 2 years of work, I was offered to be "Head of Design" for the whole company. And my responsibilities expandeв. I began to perform tasks that the current business (wealth management) requires:

  1. Rebranding
  2. Marketing design
  3. Hiring and managing a graphic designer
  4. Management of design freelancers and design partners
  5. Website redesign and improvements

It was a difficult but insanely interesting job. I had to work 16-18 hours a day. And I spent weekends and evenings on courses about management, finance, accounting, design, etc.

Over the 4 years of work at the company, we designed all the systems, made thousands of layouts, thought out thousands of scenarios, talked to dozens of customers and thought out every detail.
