ABOUT THE PROJECT
for shared workspaces.
⚑ Role: Head of Design
It was 2016. The crypto industry is at its peak. Everyone is trying to build companies and raise investments through ICO. Together with my current CEO (at that time he was a CTO at Dolfin) and another Co-founder, we came up with the idea of making shareable workspaces around the world, access to which will be available only through Primalbase Tokens (PBT).
The token gives you the right to have a free lifetime desk in any Primebase offices. In total, we issued 1250 tokens. 1000 tokens were sold, and 250 were left inside the company for the employees. At the time of launch, PBT was the most expensive cryptocurrency in the world.
1 PBT = 3 BTC. In just 25 hours, we sold all 1000 tokens, earning about €8 million.
Business model: the more PrimalBase we open, the more expensive token should cost.
The next stage: open hotels in the same busniess model
Sad spoiler: the project has been closed at the end of 2019. Because of the bad management and very bad accounting.
Also to support PrimalBase we created Binary District. BD is conference and meetups about blockchain and other tech fields. Almost all of these events took place at the PrimalBase offices around the world. At BD I was Senior Product Designer for a 6 month.
I was taken as the Head of Design for the entire company. My responsibilities included:
The main idea of Primalbase was not only to sell tokens that allow lifelong access to the offices, but also well-known crypto startups worked in these offices very close to each other. So they can collaborate and gain the industry. It was crypto starts that were our main customers.
Since I was developing both Branding and UX/UI, the main challenge for me was the integration and management of these two areas together as a single system. Marketing, design, and business were inextricably linked together. It was really interesting to build and manage it myself.
